David Ackerman

Advisory Board Member

David Ackerman has a long standing history in the franchising and education industry. He has been involved with The Little Gym® for over 17 years and is currently the Director of International Operations for The Little Gym International. Dave leads the team that oversees domestic operations including business development, business leadership and marketing. Due to his extensive successes and impact, Dave was then charged with taking his expertise to the world stage, where he is currently working with Master Franchisee’s on 6 Continents and 32 Countries. Major projects include developing the brand in Australia, Colombia, Peru and building The Little Gym brand in South Africa. Dave works directly with Master Franchisee’s to assist them with building their corporate infrastructure, strategic planning, franchise development and marketing.

Mr. Ackerman serves on the Management team for The Little Gym International which is responsible for the company’s overarching strategic vision, a collaborative effort including all business units within the organization. During the 2018 Annual meeting, Dave spearheaded an initiative raising funds for the Serious Fun Children’s Network. His personal highlight was leading an event including philanthropic partner Lego® and Lego Duplo®, which resulted in providing children with a severe illness and their families the ability to attend camps.

Dave often speaks at the company’s annual meeting and presents at training events around the world. Most recently, he was invited to present the welcome speech to 300 attendees during The Little Gym China’s annual meeting. During his tenure with The Little Gym, Dave has written curriculum, trained franchisees on curriculum and business operations and has been highly involved in the start-up and operational support of franchisees.

At a young age, Dave had a passion for working with children which has taken him to where he is today. He began managing the local town summer recreation program, which led him to pursue his Master’s Degree in Education. He participates in Educational Fundraising and is an acting member on the board, serving as Secretary.
